For the past decade the Lake of the Woods region of North-Western Ontario has been producing some outstanding Whitetail deer populations. Abundant browse and mineral rich lichens are the key forage that grows some incredible animals both in body size and antler mass. Dave Bennett has been hunting these wary creatures since he was 16 years old, and has taken his game to new levels over the past decade guiding clients to trophy bucks. Employing several different hunting methods, Dave promises the big woods hunt of a lifetime. From early season hideouts, to rut-time runways, Dave knows the habits of the prey. Wait in great anticipation in the concealment of one of over 20 stands that Dave has carefully placed on remote area game trails for a glimpse of that buck of a lifetime. Carefully orchestrated drives can get anyone’s adrenaline pumping when that trophy deer comes crashing through the underbrush. Still-hunting across ridgelines while rattling and grunting is one of Dave’s favourite hunting methods and produces incredible results including the famous buck that Dave brought down in 2006 that scored an awesome 202 gross Boone & Crockett score. Catering to both gun and bow hunters, Dave hunts remote areas of Lake of the Woods where clients enjoy both solitude and a great hunting success. Hunts are 6 days and 7 nights for groups of 4 people max. Fishing, Duck and Ruffed Grouse hunting are available, at extra cost, to hunters who finish the hunt early.
